Better-Than-Takeout Chicken Fried Rice

Loved this so much & it was easy to make! Much better than any Chinese takeout.
  • 3 cups cooked white rice (day old or leftover rice works best!)
  • 3 tbs sesame oil
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots (thawed)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  1. The second ingredient in Kikkoman is wheat, it is a wheat sauce that is not gluten free! Found out the hard way. After substituting for that, the recipe was great!

  3. Is this a gluten-free recipe site? Cuz I don't see any claim that this is gluten free, so wouldn't have thought it was. If you don't have celiac disease or some other sensitivity to gluten, there's no reason to eliminate it from your diet.

  5. you could use Bragg's liquid amino's instead of the soy sauce and it tastes the same and will make the dish gluten free.

  8. This was a great easy recipe. I found it had a little more soy sauce than I would like. Mine definitely came out darker and runnier than the photo. But it tastes great.

  9. You can use tamari instead of soy sauce for gluten free! Liquid aminos are also a good choice for lower sodium diets (but not gluten free).

  10. I just added 3grilled chicken breast,, cooked and the recipe was great!
